Otterbein Early Education Center is a family friendly, Christian child care center which provides a safe, loving and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children birth through fifth grade.

We are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, are a four-star Keystone STAR center as well as being NAEYC accredited.

We are open 6:30 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday.

The following care options are offered:

Full-time care for children 6 weeks through pre-kindergarten. Part-time care for toddlers through pre-kindergarten. Before and after school care for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade who attend Northeastern School District. School age Summer camp for children who have completed kindergarten through 5th grade.

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

All children are given opportunities to interact with age-appropriate toys and materials. Children are exposed to music, drama, literacy, writing, science, math and art in ways that reflect the world around us. Children learn social skills as well as self-help skills through interactions with their peers and teachers; preparing them for success in their future schooling. Children in our pre-kindergarten class visit Mt. Wolf Elementary school twice a week for art and library classes as well as making monthly visits to our local Senior Center. Physical health is an important part of our curriculum. All children go outside twice daily and often take walks to local parks. A nutritious breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack are pro-vided and teeth brushing and rest time occur daily. Helping children develop their faith is done in several ways. The children pray before they eat, participate in a sing-a-long with Pastor Wayne each week as wells as having weekly Bible stories.

OUR STAFF

Our staff receive ongoing training in early childhood education, child development, observation and assessment. Additionally, all staff have continuing training in pediatric first-aid, fire safety and CPR.
